Pharmacist | Cambridge, Massachusetts

An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee daily pharmacy operations within a specialty pharmacy setting. This role demands strong leadership to ensure safe, compliant medication practices and to support exceptional patient care. The position operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation during weekends, and is based onsite.


Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License (required)
• Connecticut Pharmacist License preferred or a willingness to obtain promptly
• Background in Specialty, Infusion, or Compounding pharmacy-retail-only experience is not suitable
• Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Specialty, Infusion, Hospital, or related pharmacy settings preferred
• Familiarity with specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of CareTend software is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage prescription review, verification, dispensing, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC
• Deliver patient counseling and oversee specialty medication therapy management
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, providing guidance and direction
• Coordinate with Intake, Referral Services, Nursing, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations to ensure seamless prescription fulfillment
• Maintain thorough documentation, handle quality assurance, and resolve any incidents
• Participate actively in weekend on-call rotations as scheduled
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and streamline operational workflows

Location & Schedule:

• Onsite presence required in the Cambridge, MA area
• Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with weekend on-call rotation

This contract-to-hire position offers the chance for quick onboarding, with an initial commitment of 13 weeks and potential extension to 26 weeks.
