As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Agent in Tavares, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate $18.50 / Hour Job Schedule Mon: 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control activities, and/or emergency response actions at a government location. Screen visitors, staff, and permitted items at designated entry points in accordance with site policies, reporting unusual activity and/or restricted items through proper channels. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public officials as needed. Monitor entrances, lobbies, and other assigned areas to help support orderly access, verify credentials when required, and follow established post orders and security-related procedures. Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, as assigned, noting site conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity. Minimum Requirements Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience. Be 21+ years of age. An armed guard card/license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
