Billing Assistant

EMSL is seeking a Billing Assistant in Long Island City, NY. This person will process billing orders for our products division.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist the lab with daily billing and be responsible for monthly closingReceive environmental samples from clients and shipping carriersGenerate final reports for screening/approvalInvoicing reports, processing media purchases, charging credit cards, returns, and/or credit memosAssisting with incoming calls/emails regarding invoice questionsContacting clients via phone and email as neededWill be required to order supplies weekly and maintain inventory (lab coats etc.)Scan audit; ensuring proper disposal of documents by scanning and shreddingWork on any other administrative or housekeeping related projects as needed to meet business demandsAssist with sample loginRequirements:High School Degree or equivalentSome college course work completed a plusMust have 1 to 3 years' experience in billingProficient in MS OfficeAble to type 55 words per minuteAbility to prioritize work assignmentsAttention to detail and problem solving skills requiredExcellent communication skills both written and verbalEffective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi- taskProven ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environmentAvailable Shift:Position is full time, Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m.Training Schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Long Island City, NY are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, flexible spending account.
