Cad Technician

CAD TechnicianWe are seeking a CAD Technician to support a leading automotive manufacturing operation in Princeton, Indiana. This position will support digital manufacturing initiatives within Final Assembly Production Engineering, with a focus on improving manufacturing preparation for new vehicle model introductions.The ideal candidate has strong CAD and 3D modeling skills and is comfortable working with digital manufacturing tools, simulations, layouts, and engineering data.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport project planning for upcoming vehicle model changesPerform 3D studies, simulations, FEA, and layout updatesSupport 3D assembly management and digital manufacturing initiativesManage and analyze vehicle assembly engineering dataDevelop and update CAD models and manufacturing layoutsSupport simultaneous engineering activities for vehicle assemblyUtilize digital tools including AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks, 3D printing, and 3D scanningCollaborate with internal engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, and external support groupsSupport shop-floor activities as requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Technology, CAD, or a related field2+ years of relevant experience; candidates with strong hands-on experience coming directly out of school may also be consideredProficiency with AutoCADExperience with CATIA, SolidWorks, and/or InventorStrong 3D modeling and/or simulation experienceKnowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Strong understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminologyProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and OutlookStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%Valid driving record meeting company requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience with 3D printingFamiliarity with 3D scanning technologiesFEA experience or certificationCAD certification3D modeling or simulation certificationAutomotive or manufacturing environment experienceAdditional DetailsThis is an onsite, shop-floor-supported position in Princeton, Indiana. Some travel may be required after approximately three months, primarily domestic with occasional international travel to Japan for meetings and observations.Steel-toed shoes are required.
