Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed Med Surg/Oncology/Hematology/Nephrology/Endocrine/GI/Dermatology/General Medicine units for adults 18+, including assessments, planning, and implementation of nursing care.
• Administer medications and IV therapies, manage monitoring equipment (including IV pumps), and respond to changes in patient condition; document care in the EMR (EPIC).
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, participate in rounds, coordinate discharge planning, and educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and self-care.
• Perform unit duties such as procedures (e.g., NG tubes), manage specialty beds, and assist with care of patients with CA diagnoses, diabetes, ESRD, GI concerns, Dermatology needs, or related conditions.
• Maintain strict infection control, patient safety, and comfort measures; adhere to chemo certification when applicable and follow facility protocols for chemotherapy administration and handling.
• Float to assigned units as needed; maintain flexibility in scheduling and unit coverage.

Requirements

• Licenses: Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; all RN licenses must be in good standing.
• Certifications: Current AHA BLS, NIHSS, and Chemo Certification required.
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience; travel experience required.
• Education: RN degree from an accredited program.
• EMR: Proficiency with EPIC or demonstrated EPIC EMR experience.
• Other: Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics; RTO requests must be included at submission; ability to float to multiple units as needed.
