In this remote role, you will engage with clients through telehealth platforms to provide expert mental health services aimed at improving their emotional and psychological well-being. Work Environment The Mental Health Counselor position operates in a fully remote setting, allowing you to provide counseling services from the comfort of your home while maintaining a work-life balance. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, who share common goals of improving patient outcomes and advancing mental health treatment. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility required to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify clients’ mental health needs, utilizing standardized testing and subjective interviews. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Document patient progress and treatment outcomes meticulously, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Engage in regular participation in case consultations and peer review meetings to enrich professional development and enhance the quality of care. Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to foster informed decision-making and support systems. Continuously broaden your knowledge base by staying updated on the latest research and methodologies in the mental health field. Identify and connect clients with appropriate community resources to support their treatment goals. Patient Population / Client Focus You will work primarily with diverse populations struggling with a variety of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mood disorders. This role requires cultural competency and sensitivity, as you will be supporting clients from varying backgrounds, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care that considers their unique experiences and contexts. Qualifications A Master's degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. An active state license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Proficient in solution-based psychotherapy techniques, allowing you to adapt interventions based on the client's individual needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills necessary for assessing and addressing complex client issues. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a clinical mental health setting, working with populations similar to those served by Solaris Health System. Familiarity with telehealth practices and remote counseling technologies. Demonstrated capacity for working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
