Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential.1. Provide Classroom Logistics & Operational SupportServe as a primary responder for immediate classroom resource needs and laboratory support requests.Support teachers in maintaining organized, functional, and well-stocked laboratory and classroom spaces.Regularly audit and restock classroom and laboratory supplies, including safety equipment and commonly used materials.Monitor laboratory readiness and communicate resource or maintenance needs to the Science Lab Manager.2. Support Laboratory Preparation & BreakdownPrepare equipment, materials, and chemical reagents for laboratory activities as directed by the Science Lab Manager and science faculty.Support laboratory setup, breakdown, and cleanup processes.Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and returned to appropriate storage locations following use.Assist with the movement and distribution of laboratory materials between preparation spaces and classrooms.3. Maintain Equipment & ResourcesPerform routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory equipment.Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware according to established procedures.Assist the Science Lab Manager with specialized laboratory preparations and technical tasks.Support inventory tracking and organization of laboratory materials and equipment.4. Support Health, Safety & ComplianceAssist in maintaining laboratory safety standards and procedures.Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other required safety documentation are available and accessible.Support safe storage, handling, and disposal procedures for laboratory materials.Respond to laboratory incidents and concerns in accordance with established school safety protocols.Assist with annual inventory audits of chemicals and laboratory equipment.5. Support Teaching & LearningAssist teachers during laboratory activities when requested.Support student safety and proper equipment use during practical learning experiences.Assist with science fairs, research projects, exhibitions, and other departmental initiatives as assigned.Contribute to the smooth operation of inquiry-based science learning experiences.6. Engage in Professional Learning & CollaborationAttend department meetings and required school professional learning activities.Collaborate positively with faculty, staff, and operational teams.Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to student safety and wellbeing.Support the mission, vision, and values of Atlanta International School.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducational Background & Professional ExperienceAssociate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in a science-related field preferred.Experience working in a laboratory, school, university, healthcare, or related environment.Experience supporting laboratory operations or scientific equipment preferred.Specialized SkillsBasic knowledge of scientific equipment, materials, and laboratory processes, and creation of simple reagent solutionsKnowledge of laboratory safety practices, including cleaning chemical spills, and equipment handling.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately and consistently.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.Additional QualificationsCommitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.Ability to lift and move laboratory materials and equipment safely.Ability to move between multiple laboratory and classroom spaces throughout the school day.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining organized workspaces.TO BE CONSIDEREDTo be considered for the above-mentioned position, please submit the following items: a letter of interest, a resume, and email and phone contact information for three professional references, with at least one being supervisory in nature by the stipulated deadline.
