About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Utilities and Energy to oversee and manage the plant engineering and strategic energy management activities for its extensive healthcare and academic facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for a large and diverse portfolio, including the main campus and healthcare region. This role involves providing leadership to a substantial maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and meeting the financial objectives of the facilities department. The Executive Director will also be involved in energy management, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and collaborating on sustainability initiatives. Applicants must have a Master's degree in a related field, an undergraduate engineering degree, and at least 5 years' of management experience in utility and energy management. A strong background in general maintenance, particularly in HVAC, electrical distribution, and building automation systems, is essential. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in managing large maintenance programs, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to cut costs through effective energy management. The Executive Director will also be expected to have energy management certifications and be adept at working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the organization's facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
