Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities, limitations, and goals to create individualized treatment plans focused on recovery.
• Manage a manageable caseload of patients, providing one-on-one treatment sessions that identify and address their rehabilitation needs.
• Implement evidence-based treatment techniques aimed at improving patients' range of motion, strength, balance, and overall mobility.
• Motivate patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation process, helping them to set and achieve personal physical therapy goals.
• Document patient progress and treatment plans meticulously, utilizing our electronic medical records (EMR) system to maintain clear and accurate records.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals—such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventative measures to support long-term health outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will engage with a diverse patient demographic ranging from young athletes to elderly individuals needing rehabilitation to regain independence. Your personalized approach will enable each patient to navigate their recovery journey with confidence and support.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with a clean professional record and no disciplinary actions.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription.
• Experience utilizing EMR software, specifically WebPT, for efficient patient documentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working within an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of rehabilitation protocols.
• Familiarity with sports medicine practices is a plus, particularly in designing performance-enhancement programs.
• Experience working in home care settings, understanding the unique challenges and rewards of therapy in a patient's home.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
