Summit Counseling and Therapy Group is inviting a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our Pain Management team in Geneva, New York. This full-time position will focus on the comprehensive treatment and care of chronic pain patients, utilizing both interventional strategies and medication management. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility, where you will work alongside a dynamic team of physicians, therapists, and nurses in a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and professional growth. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• You will conduct comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses of patients suffering from chronic pain, establishing individualized treatment plans that incorporate both interventional and pharmacological strategies.
• Prescribe medications in alignment with therapeutic goals, providing clear explanations and education to patients and their families regarding treatment options and managing expectations.
• Engage in regular consultations with physicians and fellow healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and effective patient management.
• Perform thorough physical examinations and interpret clinical findings, laboratory results, and diagnostic imaging to inform your assessments and treatment plans.
• Monitor and evaluate the health status of patients regularly, making adjustments to management plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Utilize approved protocols to document patient care accurately and effectively, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily benefit individuals experiencing chronic pain, including those with conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and postoperative pain syndrome. You will be vital in creating a supportive atmosphere for patients navigating pain management, focusing on individualized care that acknowledges their unique challenges and needs.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required for this role.
• Current and active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience in a clinical setting, ideally within pain management or similar fields, is necessary to ensure proficiency in a demanding environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
• A demonstrated commitment to providing quality patient care in a performance-driven environment.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in pain management, familiarity with interventional pain management procedures, and a proactive approach to patient education and care are highly desirable. Comfort with electronic health records and familiarity with telehealth platforms will also be beneficial in streamlining patient interactions and documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

Summit Counseling and Therapy Group offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
