Summit Counseling and Therapy Group is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to specialize in chronic pain management. This full-time, onsite role is located in our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Batavia, New York. Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physician Assistant focused on pain management, you will:

• Evaluate and diagnose chronic pain patients carefully, utilizing clinical findings alongside laboratory and imaging results to formulate precise treatment plans.
• Identify suitable candidates for interventional pain management procedures, understanding when referrals to specialists are necessary for comprehensive patient care.
• Perform thorough physical examinations, documenting patients' conditions and history to ensure quality assessments.
• Prescribe and manage medication regimens according to therapeutic goals while educating patients and their families about treatment protocols.
• Consult diligently with supervising physicians and healthcare team members to enhance patient management strategies and outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient management plans, adjusting as needed based on progress and feedback from both patients and colleagues.
• Regularly reassess and adjust treatment plans in response to patient’s evolving health statuses to optimize outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, which can include back pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and other related disorders. Many of these patients come from diverse backgrounds and often face complex medical histories requiring a thoughtful and thorough approach. Your compassionate care will help empower these individuals to manage their conditions effectively, improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field is essential.
• An active and valid licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, with a focus on pain management preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate discussions with patients and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Solid organizational skills to manage patient care efficiently while adhering to administrative and clinical requirements.
• A demonstrated strong work ethic, emphasizing a team-oriented and performance-driven approach to healthcare.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with specific pain management therapies and interventional procedures.
• Background in chronic pain assessments, patient education, and development of treatment plans.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and patient management software.

Compensation and Benefits
