Job Title: Sourcing Specialist – Buying / Procurement

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: $35-$40 per hour



Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and sourcing activities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong system navigation skills, a buyer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.



Key Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and track Purchase Orders (POs) within ERP systems
• Review and validate Purchase Order Requisitions (PORs) prior to PO creation
• Confirm supplier setup, availability, and compliance within procurement systems
• Monitor and review PO history, inventory status, and supply/demand data
• Support production/planning teams with accurate status updates on materials and orders
• Prepare reports and tracking information outside of ERP systems (e.g., Excel)
• Manage Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs), including releases, expediting, and follow-ups
• Coordinate with suppliers to request quotes (RFQs), expedite materials, and resolve issues
• Support sourcing activities related to repair, maintenance, and third-party services
• Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Communicate regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders via email and collaboration tools

Work Environment

• Office-based role
• Standard full-time hours (approx. 40 hours per week)
• High-volume, fast-paced procurement environment
• Requires daily use of ERP systems and multiple software screens

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
  
  (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience)
• Hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying roles
• Strong ERP system experience (buyer-side usage required)
