Location: New York City – Midtown Manhattan, 5th Avenue Showroom

Work Schedule: 2–3 days per week, aligned with scheduled livestreams

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive, organized, and hands-on Live Shopping Moderator & Operations Specialist to help manage and execute livestream shopping experiences across platforms like TikTok Live, Whatnot, and eBay Live.

This role goes beyond moderating comments. You’ll be the operational backbone of our livestreams, working alongside the live host to plan and set up each session, manage products and auctions in real time, engage with viewers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a smooth shopping experience from start to finish.

You’ll play a key role in driving viewer engagement, maintaining an organized live-selling environment, and helping convert live audiences into customers.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, quick on their feet, and excited about the evolving world of livestream commerce.

Key Responsibilities1. Pre-Live Planning & Setup

• Collaborate with the live host to plan livestream strategy, format, product lineup, and selling approach.
• Prepare and schedule livestreams across TikTok Live, Whatnot, eBay Live, and other relevant platforms.
• Create and publish live event posts, listings, announcements, and promotional content ahead of each session.
• Organize the product lineup, including product details, pricing, SKUs, inventory, images, and auction order.
• Set up auction lots, product listings, starting bids, auction durations, and other platform-specific settings.
• Coordinate product preparation, display, staging, lighting, equipment, and other technical requirements before going live.
• Develop run-of-show plans, product sequences, promotional moments, and key talking points for the host.

2. Live Moderation & Real-Time Operations

• Work alongside the live host during livestreams to ensure smooth execution from start to finish.
• Manage live sessions behind the scenes, including starting, pausing, resuming, and ending auctions as needed.
• Launch and manage auction lots, monitor bidding activity, track winning bids, and ensure auction operations run accurately.
• Manage products throughout the live, including selecting the correct items, updating product information, organizing the sequence, and keeping inventory details accurate.
• Monitor comments, questions, bids, and viewer activity in real time; respond promptly and escalate questions to the host when necessary.
• Keep the audience engaged by answering product questions, sharing relevant information, highlighting promotions, and encouraging participation.
• Coordinate timing between the host, product demonstrations, auctions, and featured items.
• Monitor orders and sales activity during the session, where supported by the platform.
• Troubleshoot technical, listing, auction, and platform-related issues quickly.
• Help enforce platform guidelines and maintain a professional, positive, and engaging live environment.

3. Post-Live Operations & Follow-Up

• Review livestream performance, including viewership, engagement, sales, auction results, and conversion metrics.
• Reconcile auction outcomes, winning bids, orders, and product records to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate post-live order processing, fulfillment handoffs, and customer follow-ups with the relevant internal teams.
• Update inventory and sales trackers and flag any discrepancies, cancellations, or unresolved issues.
• Save and organize livestream recordings and identify content that can be repurposed for social media.
• Prepare brief post-live reports highlighting performance, successful products, audience feedback, and areas for improvement.
• Recommend improvements to livestream formats, product sequencing, auction strategy, and audience engagement based on results.

4. Continuous Improvement & Growth

• Stay up to date with livestream shopping trends, platform features, auction formats, and best practices.
• Research competitor livestreams and identify opportunities to improve our content and selling strategy.
• Experiment with different product presentations, promotions, and engagement tactics to improve viewer retention and sales.
• Help build repeatable processes, checklists, and workflows to make livestream operations more efficient as we scale across platforms.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience with livestream shopping, live selling, e-commerce operations, auction management, or social commerce is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with TikTok Live, Whatnot, eBay Live, or similar livestream selling platforms is a major plus.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing several tasks simultaneously in a fast-moving, live environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with viewers and customers.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new platforms, seller dashboards, live-streaming tools, and inventory systems.
• Proactive problem-solver who can make quick decisions and remain calm under pressure.
• Comfortable working on-site in our Midtown Manhattan showroom during scheduled livestreams, 2–3 times per week.
• Flexible to work during scheduled live sessions, which may include evenings or weekends depending on the streaming calendar.
  

Work Arrangement

This is an on-site, part-time opportunity based at our showroom on 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The role will initially involve approximately 2–3 livestream sessions per week, with responsibilities spanning preparation, live execution, and post-session follow-up.
