Payroll Specialist

Hogsalt is looking for a dedicated and experienced Full Time Payroll Specialist to join our team!.

Experience & Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of payroll experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of UKG Pro or similar system required
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance, including federal, state, and local law for NY, IL, NV and FL 
• Strong understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality with sensitive employee information
• Analytical mind, solution driven and outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to develop and maintain relevant reconciliations while also being able to identify and resolve variances
• Experience using Evention, Toast, and Concur is preferred 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Verify time card accuracy and secure Leadership approval prior to payroll processing deadlines.
• Correct timecard coding errors in compliance with DOL requirements.
• Combine and review store labor reports, process manual adjustments, and generate report previews.
• Lead weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for hourly, salaried, and tipped employees.
• Uphold payroll integrity by enforcing company policies and procedures.
• Handle payroll deductions, garnishments, employment verifications, and unemployment inquiries.
• Troubleshoot payroll system errors, data discrepancies, and Evention integration issues.
• Review quarterly and year-end tax filings for accuracy, including 941s, 1095s, and W-2s.
• Issue manual checks, adjustments, and stop payments as needed.
• Reconcile cash/credit tips and resolve short- or overpaid discrepancies, including repayments.
• Respond to team member payroll inquiries and correspondence.
• Support ongoing training and adoption of HR/payroll software across operations.
• Complete ad hoc projects and maintain flexible scheduling based on business needs.
