Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems on trucks, combining skills in house wiring and DC wiring for vehicles. This role provides hands-on technical support and customer service before, during, and after training events, acting as a key liaison between customers and internal departments. The position offers opportunities to grow, cross-train across departments, and contribute to a strong, supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on trucks, including both AC and DC wiring.
• Perform a combination of house wiring and DC wiring to support vehicle electrical systems.
• Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic blueprints.
• Assemble, test, and maintain electromechanical components and systems on trucks.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues using appropriate troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform field service work, including on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Conduct electromechanical assembly and installation work to meet quality and safety standards.
• Provide customer service before, during, and after training events, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
• Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments, clearly communicating technical issues, progress, and resolutions.
• Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and test results, in a clear and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, support cross-training, and continuously improve processes.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical and mechanical systems.

Essential Skills

• Approximately 3 years of electrical experience working with DC wiring.
• Approximately 3 years of electro-mechanical experience in a hands-on technical role.
• Approximately 3 years of experience working with AC/DC electrical systems.
• Approximately 3 years of experience reading and working from schematics and pneumatic blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in electromechanical assembly, installation, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with field service work, including on-site installation and repair.
• Solid understanding of wiring practices and electrical safety principles.
• Effective communication skills for customer-facing interactions and internal collaboration.
• Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or a closely related field.

Work Environment

This is a very hands-on, customer-facing role, working directly with end users in the field and within the facility. The position involves working with trucks, electrical and electromechanical systems, and using tools and test equipment in a shop or service environment. The organization emphasizes a positive culture, professional growth, and the opportunity to cross-train in different departments. Team members have access to an on-site workout facility on the top floor, with trainers available on designated days. The environment supports collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence, while maintaining appropriate work attire suitable for a technical, service-oriented setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
