Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: $25 - $30 per hour Job Details We are a growing logistics company seeking an AP Specialist to join our Accounting + Finance team. The role involves managing accounts payable, coding invoices, and other related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Manage the overall accounts payable function, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up‑to‑date. Code invoices accurately and efficiently, verifying and reconciling invoices against purchase orders. Utilize VLOOKUP and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data. Set up new vendors in the system and maintain existing vendor information. Record debits and credits, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts. Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. Work collaboratively with other team members to streamline and improve accounts payable processes. Provide consulting advice to clients on best practices in accounts payable management. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years in an Accounts Payable or Accounting Clerk role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Experience with vendor set‑up and management. Solid understanding of debits and credits, with experience in reconciliation and journal entries. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Experience in a consulting role an added advantage.
