Financial Analyst II
Job Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst II to support financial planning and analysis for assigned entities. This position will analyze financial results, budgets, forecasts, and trends while providing meaningful financial insights and recommendations to leadership.

The Financial Analyst II will also support grant-related financial activities, monthly reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting, journal entries, and month-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform grant-related pre- and post-award financial activities, including revenue and expense analysis, accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Assist department leaders with the preparation and review of annual operating budgets.
• Support and guide new managers in using budget systems.
• Review budget submissions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established assumptions.
• Analyze monthly actual-to-budget results and identify variances, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and interpret complex financial analyses and reports for management.
• Compile and analyze financial information for financial statement reviews and reporting deliverables.
• Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations within established deadlines.
• Research and resolve financial discrepancies with appropriate personnel.
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Support month-end and financial close activities.
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial information to service line leaders.
• Serve as a financial resource for department and service-line leadership.
• Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting , Finance, or a related field .
• Minimum 2 years of related financial experience ; strong candidates with additional experience are preferred.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel , including spreadsheets and financial data analysis.
• Ability to analyze variance and actual-to-budget financial information.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to make sound financial recommendations to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience with budget preparation and analysis.
• Healthcare finance experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Epic or Workday preferred.
• Strong PowerPoint skills for financial reporting and presentations.
