Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations for children, assessing their physical capabilities and identifying any challenges that may hinder their development.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with each patient's specific goals, adjusting strategies based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
• Regularly monitor and reassess clinical signs and symptoms to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and adjust goals in response to patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care utilizing the company's electronic health record system, including SOAP notes and progress summaries.
• Educate patients and their families about the recovery process, setting realistic expectations and strategies for overcoming potential challenges.
• Work collaboratively with team members across various disciplines within TheraPlay, ensuring integrated care for clients who are utilizing multiple services.
• Promote the culture and core values of TheraPlay, embodying the organization's mission in every interaction with clients and coworkers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will revolve around pediatric patients, primarily children with a range of orthopedic concerns, developmental disabilities, and post-operative rehabilitation needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with diverse populations, including children of various ages, races, and backgrounds, utilizing culturally responsive practices to meet their unique needs. This role not only takes into consideration the physical aspect of therapy but also emphasizes the psychosocial well-being of each child, ensuring holistic care.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
• Possession of a valid, current license issued by the state Board of Physical Therapy, with demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining current knowledge of best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of fostering productive relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
