Position Summary

The National Design Studio Manager leads the strategic alignment and operational excellence of Interior Logic Group’s Design Studios serving Taylor Morrison across multiple divisions. This role functions as a business partner to Taylor Morrison’s National Design Studio and Model Merchandising team, providing active leadership to Design Studio Managers at all locations, including Phoenix, Las Vegas, Raleigh-Durham, and future expansion opportunities.

The role ensures consistent execution of Taylor Morrison expectations, standardizes operations and performance metrics across ILG divisions, and supports national initiatives while upholding a commitment to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the homebuyer experience.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment

• Serve as a strategic business partner to Taylor Morrison’s National Design Studio and Model Merchandising team.
• Represent ILG and actively participate in the Taylor Morrison National Design Council and other key strategic meetings and forums.
• Align ILG operational and back-office processes with Taylor Morrison requirements, expectations, and established best practices.
• Support Taylor Morrison national product initiatives, programs, and market rollouts across all ILG divisions.
• Provide regular business reviews and performance updates to Taylor Morrison and ILG leadership.

Leadership & Oversight of Design Studio Managers

• Provide active leadership, mentorship, and dotted-line oversight to Design Studio Managers supporting Taylor Morrison in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Raleigh-Durham, and future locations.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with each Design Studio Manager and/or Designer to review performance, operational challenges, staffing needs, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Establish clear performance expectations and hold Design Studio Managers and Designers accountable for operational metrics, customer satisfaction, team performance, and alignment with Taylor Morrison expectations.
• Provide input and recommendations related to staffing, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
• Facilitate peer learning and best-practice sharing across Taylor Morrison Design Studio locations.

Operational Excellence & Process Standardization

• Streamline and standardize ILG business processes to align with Taylor Morrison Design Studio operations.
• Develop and implement consistent operational procedures, tools, and workflows across all Taylor Morrison Design Studios.
• Maintain and optimize Design Studio tracking systems, including DC Tracker, online scheduling, and reporting platforms.
• Oversee compliance with agreed-upon service levels, deadlines, and scope of services.

Metrics, Performance & Reporting

• Champion top performance at individual locations and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
• Develop and manage comprehensive reporting dashboards for both company and Taylor Morrison visibility.
• Track and report on builder survey scores, Auros progress, Design Studio sales performance, conversion metrics, operational KPIs, and other defined measures.
• Monitor buyer appointment schedules, community activity, and forecasting to ensure staffing and Design Studio capacity align with Taylor Morrison volume expectations.
• Prepare recurring status reports, business reviews, and performance updates as required by contractual commitments and internal business needs.

Vendor Management & Training Coordination

• Maintain consistent communication and connectivity with Taylor Morrison division purchasing leadership.
• Coordinate with Taylor Morrison key vendors and internal ILG teams to support product launches, training, and Design Studio initiatives.
• Support ongoing education related to product knowledge, applications, systems, Design Studio processes, and Taylor Morrison program expectations.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute training materials, reference tools, and other resources to support consistent execution across all Taylor Morrison Design Studios.

Strategic Projects & Model Home Management

• Lead major Design Studio initiatives, including Design Studio remodels and renovations, such as the Phoenix Design Studio rebuild, as well as planning for expansion locations.
• Oversee Design Studio layout, product selection, merchandising, operational flow, and readiness for new locations and remodels.
• Manage Taylor Morrison Model Home operations at each division and ensure delivery meets Taylor Morrison expectations.
• Support special projects, including national and division-level builder programs, product launches, merchandising initiatives, and builder-specific programs.
• Work collaboratively with field operations, sales, purchasing, and construction teams on Design Studio and Model Home initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Purchasing, Technology, and Operations teams to support Taylor Morrison business objectives.
• Coordinate with onsite builder sales staff to ensure proper materials, samples, and communication support.
• Support off-site Design Centers with pricing, product grouping, sampling, and technical guidance.
• Facilitate problem resolution between field operations and design teams.

Education & Experience

Required

• Proven leader with a minimum of 7–10 years of design and management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• 5+ years of experience working with home builders in a design or operations capacity.
• 3–5 years of interior design experience.
• Ability to work with web-based computerized design systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Experience managing and reporting on operational metrics and KPIs.
• Experience leading multiple locations or teams across diverse markets.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed.
• Must pass work eligibility requirements.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Business Administration, or a related field.
• New home construction experience in a multi-location environment.
• Experience with process standardization and operational improvement.
• Familiarity with home builder industry standards, products, and vendor relationships.
• Project management experience with Design Center buildouts or remodels.
