Outpatient Coder II

To support accurate medical billing, the fully remote Outpatient Coder II will code and abstract outpatient medical records, ensuring compliance with established guidelines while maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 95%. Key responsibilities Codes all outpatient medical records in a timely and accurate manner according to department policy Transforms verbal descriptions of diseases and procedures into numerical codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 Initiates queries for conflicting or ambiguous documentation to ensure accurate coding Required qualifications Associate degree or equivalent experience 2-4 years of coding experience Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, Disease Pathology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology Certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT) required Advanced knowledge of Evaluation and Management Coding guidelines
