This includes analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.  Primary/Essential Responsibilities and DutiesResponsible for analyzing project trends in performance and makes appropriate recommendations, will also be involved with the annual budget process and forecastingWorks closely with the Project Managers in preparing and maintaining project budgets, which will be utilized to analyze budget variances and to prepare estimates of costs to completePrepares monthly forecastResponsible for preparing cash flow/revenue projectionsPrepares and analyzes operating and financial reports monthlyAssists the Project Managers in preparing progress invoices, change order preparation, and sub-contractor managementReviews equipment internal billings to projectSupports the Regional Controller in forecasting and business planningProvides ad hoc financial analysis and reports for management as requested Required Skills and QualificationsMinimum of Five (5) years’ construction experience requiredBachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA an assetWorking knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting for construction contracts preferredKnowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principlesKnowledge of federal, provincial, and local financial regulationsAbility to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projectionsAbility to perform with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrityStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient working knowledge of financial and accounting software applications; experience with JDE preferred, v. 8.10 or later, preferredComputer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsWorks in an office environmentFrequently sits for long periods of timeFrequently speaks, reads, writes and uses a computer keyboardMay require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending.Company OverviewThis job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.  There may be unplanned activities and other duties as assigned.RailWorks is North America’s leading rail maintenance and infrastructure solutions provider.
