Staff Accountant

Job Description Summary As a Staff Accountant working for Taylor Morrison you will perform professional accounting work including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records and related duties as required. Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries Reconcile all balance sheet accounts including intercompany and bank accounts Assist in preparation and review of annual budget and quarterly updates Assist with monthly analysis and reporting of financial statements Assist with biweekly payroll including sales commissions Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures Assist with internal and external auditors as needed Perform other duties as assigned Competencies, Behaviors & Attributes Analytical Copes with pressure Delegation/Empowering Integrity/Trust Positive attitude & fun Time management Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or have successfully completed the assigned TM360 Learning curriculum if applicable Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related field preferred Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices Homebuilding/job costing experience preferred Computer literacy, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel Ability to work independently in a fast paced dynamic environment Strong analytical skills FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (you must keep a time record and be eligible for overtime pay) Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
