About the Position

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Licensed Preschool Teacher to join our team in New York City. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young childrens lives in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification:
Option 1:

• Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study
• Valid New York State Teaching Certificate (BirthGrade 2)

Option 2: Study Plan

• Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study
• One year of supervised and documented experience
• Enrollment in an approved study plan leading to NY State certification

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Completion of criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance
• Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) screening

• Early Childhood Education
• Child Development
• Elementary Education
• Students with Disabilities ( birth to 2nd grade or 1st grade to 6th grade)
• General Education (12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
• Special Education (12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
• Child Psychology ( 12 credits in Early Childhood Ed.)
• Other fields as approved by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of Child Care

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool-aged children
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
• Assess and document childrens developmental progress
• Communicate effectively with families and staff
• Maintain compliance with all NYC Bureau of Child Care regulations
