Staff Accountant (Reconciliations)

Hybrid Work Schedule (3 days in office and 2 days remote) Our client is a well-established financial services organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys reconciliations, problem-solving, process improvement, and technology/automation . What You'll Do Prepare and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts Investigate discrepancies, variances, and outstanding items Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger Prepare journal entries, accruals, schedules, and management reports Support month-end accounting activities Prepare documentation and workpapers for audits and regulatory reviews Partner with Accounting, IT, and business teams to improve reconciliation processes Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting workflows Investigate exceptions, incomplete data, unusual transactions, and automation issues Monitor reconciliation quality, exception trends, aging, and recurring issues Help develop and maintain procedures, controls, documentation, and audit trails Support the implementation and use of AI-enabled tools and workflow automation What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience 2-4 years of accounting experience Experience with account reconciliations and internal controls Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience in a financial institution, banking, credit union, or similar environment is a plus Technology / Automation Experience Candidates with experience using AI tools, workflow automation, RPA, reconciliation software, ERP/financial systems, Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies are especially encouraged to apply.
