Investment Banking Senior Analyst

A boutique middle-market investment bank is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its growing team in Denver. The firm advises privately held, founder-owned, family-owned, and private equity-backed businesses on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, ownership transitions, and capital raising transactions. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in transaction execution, financial analysis, valuation, and client deliverables while working directly with senior bankers and business owners. This position offers significant responsibility, direct exposure to clients, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully across all phases of a transaction. Key Responsibilities Support the execution of sell-side M&A, buy-side advisory, recapitalization, and capital raising engagements. Prepare and manage transaction timelines, due diligence processes, and data rooms. Coordinate with attorneys, accountants, lenders, investors, and other transaction participants. Assist senior team members throughout negotiations and closing activities. Financial Analysis & Valuation Build and maintain complex financial models and operating forecasts. Perform valuation analyses, including comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow, and leveraged buyout analyses. Analyze historical financial performance, growth drivers, and key operating metrics. Evaluate strategic alternatives and transaction structures. Prepare confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, teasers, and investor materials. Develop industry research and market analyses. Create presentation materials for client meetings and business development efforts. Ensure accuracy and quality across all client-facing deliverables. Business Development Support Research prospective clients, industries, and transaction opportunities. Monitor market activity and emerging trends. Support the preparation of pitch books and strategic advisory materials. Maintain transaction and prospect databases. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline. 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, private equity, corporate development, public accounting, or related financial services roles. Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting middle-market M&A transactions Exposure to privately held companies and owner-operated businesses. Understanding of transaction processes, due diligence, and capital markets. CPA, CFA, or progress toward a professional designation is a plus. Why Join?
