Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Positively Living, your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients’ psychological needs during the initial consultation.
\n
• Documenting case histories and treatment progress meticulously to ensure adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
\n
• Developing individualized, couple, family, or group therapy intervention plans based on clinical assessment and best practices.
\n
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions that focus on various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
\n
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet the evolving needs of clients.
\n
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and healthcare providers, to implement comprehensive client care strategies.
\n
• Following up with clients and other healthcare professionals, especially for clients requiring hospitalization.
\n
• Offering support to family members and caregivers, equipping them with tools and strategies to aid in the mental wellness journey.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Must hold a current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Pennsylvania.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a strong clinical background and understanding of psychotherapy methods.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client data effectively.

• Experience working with clients dealing with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and best practices.

• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their psychological impacts.
