Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Columbus, GA. As a Family Practice Physician Assistant, you will work primarily Monday through Friday, ensuring a balanced work-life with evenings and weekends typically free.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations, to develop accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide seamless and coordinated care for a diverse range of patients across all age groups.

• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging, making informed decisions on further diagnostics or treatment protocols tailored to individual patient needs.

• Administering vaccines and medications, while also educating patients and their families on preventive health practices and lifestyle changes to promote overall health.

• Managing chronic diseases by monitoring patient condition, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and coordinating referrals to specialists when further intervention is required.

• Ensuring all patient encounters are accurately documented in the EPIC EMR system in a timely manner, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.

• Participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and staying abreast of the latest medical research and treatment methodologies to continually enhance patient care quality.

• Fostering strong relationships with patients by delivering compassionate care and personalized attention, thus encouraging patient engagement in their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is required.

• A valid Physician Assistant (PA) certification and state license are mandatory to practice.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant in a family practice or primary care setting is essential.
