Role Overview

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from various age groups by utilizing standardized assessments coupled with observational insights.
• Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions focusing on speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing interventions.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to promote comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide education to patients and their families to enhance their journey outside the clinical environment.
• Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to maintain a seamless continuum of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation that meets all regulatory standards both at state and federal levels.
• Remain engaged in ongoing professional development through continuing education opportunities and collaboration with peers.

Educational Background

• Gainful completion of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required, unless already ASHA certified.

Required Certifications

• Must possess state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within 30 days of employment commencement.
