Regulatory Attorney for AI System Evaluation

Role Overview

Help build sophisticated evaluation tasks for AI systems used in regulatory compliance and government affairs. This role focuses on the complexity, enforcement stakes, and scope of major regulated-industry compliance programs, translating senior regulatory counsel judgment into realistic scenarios, reference materials, and assessment rubrics.

Work may focus on a U.S. track, covering the Administrative Procedure Act and agency-specific requirements such as SEC, FDA, and FTC rules, an International track covering EU regulatory frameworks and UK regulatory bodies, or both.

Key Responsibilities

• Create scenarios involving compliance-program design, agency investigations and enforcement actions, and rulemaking or public-comment processes.
• Develop tasks across financial services, healthcare and FDA regulation, antitrust and competition, data privacy and cybersecurity, and environmental and energy regulation.
• Design scenarios involving regulatory tracking platforms, compliance management systems, and agency filing systems used in regulated industries.
• Apply regulatory interpretation, compliance risk assessment, and enforcement-response strategy to the relevant standards track.
• Produce reference compliance memoranda, regulatory filings, and enforcement-response documents.
• Write rubrics that differentiate authentic senior regulatory judgment from general law-school or bar-exam-level knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a regulatory attorney or compliance counsel at a major law firm, regulated company, or government agency.
• Relevant backgrounds include major law firms such as Covington & Burling, Sidley Austin, or WilmerHale, and in-house regulatory or compliance roles at banks, pharmaceutical companies, or technology companies.
• Direct responsibility for regulatory compliance programs, agency interactions, or enforcement matters.
• Fluency with regulatory tools and a practical understanding of administrative process and agency rulemaking.
• A JD with bar admission, or an international equivalent, is strongly preferred. Experience authoring rubrics, training materials, or compliance documentation is a plus.

Work Terms

• Remote, hourly engagement.
• Qualified experts in either the U.S. or International track, or both, are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

• $90 to $100 per hour.
