Details Work on the 6B Surgery Trauma unit of a Level 1 trauma center hospital Care for a high-acuity surgical, gunshot, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patient population Patient ratio of 5:1 Support staff includes nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary ED nurses and admitting units complete a formal nurse handoff process Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month No block scheduling available; must be willing to work assigned shifts No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand BLS certification required, ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty Prior experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required Background in high-volume hospitals managing complex and severe cases required Epic EMR experience required Additional Information Provide nursing care within a high-acuity surgical trauma floor handling complex and challenging cases No RTO permitted during the assignment Local candidates accepted at the same rate as the travel rate Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-745265.
