Psychiatry Director physician employment in New York :
A healthcare network on Long Island is seeking a new Medical Director - Psychiatry for a Part-time opportunity at one of their outpatient facilities in Suffolk County LI.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Part-time
- Hours: 15 hours per week
- Setting: Outpatient behavioral health
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients within the psychiatry specialty area
- Provide direct psychiatric care and evidence-based medication management
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Participate in planning, developing, and improving behavioral health services
- Maintain clinical documentation, coordinate referrals, and support follow-up care
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree, such as an MD or DO
- Board certification in Adult Psychiatry or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Board certification in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
- Active buprenorphine license, or eligibility to obtain it
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Outpatient Behavioral Health
- Familiarity with addiction Treatment
- Experience supervising clinical providers
- Background in Quality Improvement, Peer Review, or Multidisciplinary Care Planning
