Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization through preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting activities. This position assists with month-end and year-end close processes, budgeting activities, audit support, tax compliance, and corporate reporting requirements. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and other members of the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial information while contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General Accounting Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for monthly close activities. Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items. Maintain balance sheet account analyses and schedules. Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Support intercompany accounting activities and reconciliations. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules. Support corporate reporting requirements and parent company reporting submissions. Assist in preparing financial analyses and variance explanations. Compile information and schedules used for internal and external reporting purposes. Assist with year‑end audit requests and preparation of financial statement support schedules. Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules. Support corporate reporting requirements and parent company reporting submissions. Assist in preparing financial analyses and variance explanations. Compile information and schedules used for internal and external reporting purposes. Assist with year‑end audit requests and preparation of financial statement support schedules. Budgeting and Financial Analysis Support the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes. Assist with monthly variance analyses of actual results versus budget and forecast. Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by management. Assist in identifying financial trends and areas for operational improvement. Tax and Compliance Assist with preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns. Support corporate income tax compliance and tax provision activities. Assist in gathering information requested by external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies. Support compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures. Process Improvement Participate in process improvement initiatives within the accounting and finance functions. Assist with documentation and maintenance of accounting procedures. Support financial systems enhancements and reporting improvements. Recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness within accounting processes. Required Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. Zero to three (0-3) years of accounting experience preferred. Internship experience in accounting, finance, or public accounting is beneficial. Manufacturing industry experience is a plus but not required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, is preferred but not required.
