Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical Neuro RN – North Carolina

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available; 13-26 week contract length; 12-16 weekend shifts per contract required

Highlights

• Dedicated neurology unit specializing in neurosurgical procedures and neuro diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Two orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• 36-bed unit with daily census of 36 patients serving adult patient population
• Floating within facility required; may include storm team or hurricane team assignment during catastrophic events

Requirements

• North Carolina or Compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neurology experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Experience with telemetry, IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation, pre/post neurosurgery care, and wound care preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
