Registered Nurse CVOR

Job Summary:

Provide specialized cardiovascular nursing care in a high-volume CVOR unit, supporting complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including bypass, valve replacements, and ECMO procedures. Ensure optimal patient outcomes through expert surgical support and post-operative care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Scrutinize preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiac and thoracic procedures.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgeons by scrubbing in on cardiac cases requiring bypass, mediastinal, thoracic, and ECMO procedures.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any intraoperative changes or emergencies.
  
  
• 
  Document all surgical and patient care activities accurately within the system.
  
  
• 
  Maintain sterile technique and adhere to all safety, infection control, and unit policies.
  
  
• 
  Support post-operative care and facilitate smooth handoffs to recovery or intensive care teams.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current RN license with at least 2 years of OR or CVOR experience.
  
  
• 
  Proficient in scrubbing cardiac cases, including bypass, TAVR, thoracoscopic (VATS), and ECMO initiations.
  
  
• 
  BLS certification required; additional advanced certifications preferred.
  
  
• 
  Ability to take call, including weekends and after-hours support.
  
  
• 
  Strong understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
