Our organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Team Lead to oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations while serving as the primary resource for the AP function. This position is ideal for an experienced accounts payable professional who enjoys improving processes, partnering cross-functionally with purchasing and manufacturing, and has the potential to lead a small team as the department continues to grow. Duties/Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. Manage the flow of raw materials and equipment invoices, matching each invoice to purchase orders and receiving documentation using a three-way match process. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by partnering with purchasing, warehouse, and vendors to correct pricing, quantity, and receiving issues. Coordinate weekly payment runs while prioritizing critical suppliers that support ongoing manufacturing operations. Reconcile vendor statements, research outstanding items, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate vendor accounts. Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals, reconciling AP-related accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. Monitor open purchase orders and ensure receiving documentation is complete to facilitate accurate inventory valuation. Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase departmental efficiency. Serve as the primary point of contact for AP-related questions and provide guidance and training to other team members as needed. Assist with audit requests and special accounting projects. Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience. Experience working with three-way matching, purchase orders, and high-volume invoice processing. Prior experience mentoring, training, or leading others is a plus. Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar platforms. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting, purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams.
