About the Position

Neurology Locum Opportunity - Washington

A healthcare system in Washington is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist to provide outpatient clinic coverage and unrestricted call coverage for a physician leave of absence.

Compensation: Regular: $1750 per 24 hours, Callback: $295/hr

Position Overview

Start Date: July 2026


Assignment Length: 10 Weeks


Coverage Need: Approximately 0.25 FTE


Schedule: One week per month


Schedule


Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM clinic


24-hour unrestricted beeper call while covering clinic


Preferred coverage: 3-5 consecutive days of call per assignment week


In-house consultations performed while onsite

Hospital-Based Neurology Service


Inpatient and Outpatient Responsibilities


122-bed hospital


Adult and adolescent patient population (17+)

Patient Volume


Average 16 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities


Outpatient neurology clinic


Inpatient consultations


Hospital rounding and admissions


Telephone call coverage


Management of neurologic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings


Required Procedures


EEG interpretation


EMG studies

Support Structure


Collaborative neurology team


1.5 Neurologists


1 Nurse Practitioner


Provider is not working solo


EMR: Epic

Requirements


Board Certified in Neurology


Active Washington medical license required at time of presentation


BLS certification


ACLS certification


DEA registration


Minimum 2 years of experience preferred


Documentation of at least 100 neurology cases within the previous 24 months

Credentialing


Expedited credentialing being pursued due to urgent coverage need


Washington license must be active at presentation


IMLC candidates are not being considered at this time

Call Details


Unrestricted beeper call


Low call volume


Approximately 0-4 calls or texts per 24-hour period


Most issues managed by phone

Ideal Candidate


Board-Certified Neurologist with EEG and EMG proficiency


Comfortable with both inpatient and outpatient neurology


Available for one week per month coverage


Holds an active Washington license and can start on an expedited timeline
