Lab Technician IV

Advanced technical role performing necropsy, gross pathology, and specimen processing to support preclinical research and laboratory operations. The Necropsy Technician IV works independently while collaborating with pathologists and research teams to ensure accurate, compliant execution of pathology procedures and maintains extensive technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform necropsy and gross pathology procedures including tissue dissection, specimen preparation, and histopathology support
• Collect, process, label, and track biological specimens while maintaining chain of custody and integrity
• Document findings, procedures, and technical data in compliance with quality and regulatory standards
• Draft and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior laboratory personnel and support workflow coordination

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years necropsy, pathology, or biomedical research experience
• Demonstrated expertise in necropsy, gross pathology, tissue collection, and specimen processing
• Proficiency maintaining technical documentation and laboratory records in regulated environments
• Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Working knowledge of quality, regulatory, safety, biosafety, and animal welfare requirements
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related discipline (preferred)
