Job Description Lycée International de Houston is seeking a HistoryandSocial Studies Teacher for Middle and High School levels for the 2026-2027School Year . The ideal candidate will haveexpertisein teaching history and social studies within the Texas state curriculum, fostering critical thinking, and creating engaging lessons that connect students to past and present societal issues. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree (preferred) orBachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, or a closely related field Minimum three years of middle and/or high school teaching experience Strong knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Social Studies Experience teaching IB Social Studies (SL/HL) and/or AP courses Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiencywith instructional technology and digital learning platforms Positive, adaptable, and open-minded approach within a multicultural school environment Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds Enthusiasm for teaching History, Social Studies, and the Humanities Willingness and flexibility to contribute to school life through coaching, clubs, or student activities Legal authorization to work in the United States The Social Studies teacher delivers engaging, inquiry-based instruction across middle and high school grade levels, preparing students for success in TEKS-aligned coursework and IB/AP programs while fostering historical thinking and global awareness.
