2026-2027 4th Grade One Way Dual Language Teacher @ Hearne Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 Assist students in becoming proficient in two languages and in content areas to promote bilingualism and biliteracy skills, contributing to their development as responsible citizens within a diverse and multicultural society. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college Valid Texas Teacher Certification including bilingual or ESL certification Texas Reading Academy Certificate (Grades K-3) Effective oral and written communication skills in English Ability to build and maintain productive relationships among colleagues Knowledge of district’s bilingual and ESL programs Strong bilingual and biliterate proficiency required for Spanish subject (Literacy & Grammar, Science, Social Studies) No experience required Major Responsibilities and Duties Serve a diverse population of students participating in state/federal programs and general education across all content areas. Plan and teach a program of study in accordance with the Texas Education Agency, district mandates, and curricula. Create an inviting, risk‑free, supportive and warm learning environment appropriate to the developmental level and interests of students; supervise students in out‑of‑classroom activities during assigned hours. Assess ongoing accomplishments and needs of students; maintain appropriate records and provide immediate feedback and progress reports in accordance with building and district guidelines. Diagnose learning needs of all students and seek assistance from building and district leadership for appropriate interventions. Implement instructional, linguistic, and/or modifications and accommodations per ARD/LPAC decisions and federal/state guidelines. Confer and foster professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators per building and district guidelines. Implement an effective discipline management system aligned with building and district policies governing student conduct. Plan and participate in all meetings and provide appropriate documentation for admissions, reviews, progress, grades, dismissals, conferences, etc. Maintain an acceptable attendance rate of 94% annually (excluding approved leaves and emergencies). Maintain competence through professional development activities to meet campus, district, and federal requirements. Other duties Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary: $67,100 per year.
