Position Overview Corewell Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team in Westbury, New York. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a small but dynamic group of healthcare professionals in an orthopedic outpatient practice. Work Environment Situated in the vibrant community of Westbury, our outpatient office fosters a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The team consists of two skilled physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant (PTA), ensuring a variety of perspectives and expertise are available for patient care. This role will be primarily onsite, allowing for direct engagement with both patients and colleagues and facilitating effective and personalized treatment strategies. Key Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist at Corewell Physical Therapy, your responsibilities will include: Conducting thorough assessments to identify and address each patient’s unique goals and requirements. Managing a patient caseload, providing one-on-one therapy to each client for an hour at a time to maximize treatment effectiveness. Implementing evidence-based treatment strategies that enhance patients' range of motion, mobility, and overall physical performance. Developing and executing detailed care plans that leverage a range of therapeutic techniques. Designing customized fitness and wellness programs tailored to individual patient needs and recovery objectives. Offering encouragement and motivation throughout each patient's treatment to foster enhanced patient compliance and optimize recovery outcomes. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and specialists, to formulate comprehensive care strategies. Evaluating patient treatment outcomes and monitoring progress through clear documentation and open communication with patients and care teams. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, including those related to sports activities, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. You will take pride in customizing treatment plans that not only aim to alleviate symptoms but also educate patients on preventative measures for future injuries, thereby promoting long-term health and wellness. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: A Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association. State licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York; candidates must fulfill requirements set by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee. A strong foundation with at least one year of experience working in orthopedic outpatient settings, demonstrating a clear understanding of treatment methodologies. Preferred Experience While the minimum requirement is one year of outpatient orthopedic experience, candidates with additional specialties in sports medicine or advanced certifications will be viewed favorably. Experience within a private practice that handles diverse patient cases is encouraged. Compensation and Benefits This full-time position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000, commensurate with experience.
