Summary

The role of the Staff Accountant is responsible for operating with a high level of accountability and accuracy related to accounting functions within Bibliotheca. The Staff Accountant will perform general ledger accounting responsibilities to include: month end close, monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, financial statement analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end closing process including preparation of assigned journal entries, accruals and/or deferrals for Canada & US Operations.
• Prepare monthly account and inventory reconciliations in alignment with GAAP, working closely with Supply Chain and the Controller.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and departmental guidelines.
• Assist with the monthly financial statement reviews including variance analysis of assigned accounts.
• Document and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
• Complete monthly IFRS reporting package for Canada
• Manage multiple on-going projects as well as ad-hoc requests.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance accounting & management or other relevant degree
• High energy self-starter with the ability to take initiative with minimal guidance
• Solid communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with intermediate Microsoft Excel
• Must be a team player with the ability to maintain a positive attitude

Working Conditions

• Work environment (Hybrid, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday are in office days, with Mondays and Fridays being remote)
• Physical requirements (sitting for longer periods of time)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, financial formulas).
• Experience with NetSuite is a strong advantage.
