Travel Nursing Job Details

Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
Specialty: Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 13, 2027
Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
Shift: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly, excluding on-call time
Floating: Not required

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
Strong patient assessment, communication, and advocacy skills
Travel nursing experience preferred

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly identify changes requiring intervention
Apply advanced fetal monitoring knowledge to support safe clinical decision-making
Collaborate with obstetric providers, anesthesia professionals, neonatal clinicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
Administer medications, manage intravenous therapies, and assist with labor and delivery procedures
Support patients and families through education, communication, and compassionate maternity care
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
Promote evidence-based practices and a safe, patient-centered birth experience
