Insurance Agency Development Manager Miami

Northwest Partners is looking for an Agency Development Manager who's passionate about building independent insurance agency relationships, improving qualified submissions, and supporting policy growth throughout the Miami-Dade and South Florida Tri-County market through territory-based engagement, training, and account development. What YOU will do Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing independent insurance agencies throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties to increase qualified submissions and grow policies in force. Manage the assigned South Florida territory through frequent agency visits, phone calls, virtual meetings, and other direct engagement, with approximately 65% to 70% travel during the first year. Travel requirements are expected to decrease after the first year as the agency territory and relationships become established. Identify new agency opportunities throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties through prospecting and develop relationships that support profitable growth. Understand agency business models, goals, geographic markets, and submission practices and provide guidance to improve account quality and placement opportunities. Develop agency relationships within the South Florida market and identify opportunities to expand agency participation and production. Provide training and ongoing support related to systems, products, underwriting guidelines, and submission processes. Serve as a resource for property and casualty insurance products, enterprise systems, industry trends, and competitive market conditions affecting the South Florida insurance market. Maintain accurate agency activity, account information, opportunities, and follow-up actions in Salesforce or comparable CRM systems. Monitor territory performance and key metrics to identify opportunities for additional agency engagement, training, and account development. Partner with internal product and business teams to communicate agency feedback, competitive information, and opportunities for product or process improvements. Manage territory priorities, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities while maintaining consistent agency engagement across the Tri-County market. Represent the organization professionally during agency visits, industry events, conferences, and other business activities throughout South Florida. Meet individual and team growth objectives and perform additional responsibilities as assigned. What YOU will bring us A minimum of 2 to 4 years of property and casualty insurance industry experience. Experience in territory sales, agency development, account management, or an agency-facing insurance role. Experience managing a geographic territory, preferably within the South Florida insurance market. Knowledge of the independent insurance agency environment and insurance distribution practices in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 65% to 70% during the first year for in-person agency visits throughout the South Florida Tri-County area, with the expectation that travel requirements will decrease after the first year as the territory becomes established. Strong understanding of independent agency operations and the ability to identify opportunities to improve qualified submissions and policy growth. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with insurance agents, agency owners, and other agency stakeholders through active listening and consultative communication. Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance products, underwriting guidelines, submissions, quoting, and market conditions. Strong time management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of assigned territory activities. Ability to analyze business situations, think critically, and develop practical approaches to agency and territory challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software such as Salesforce. Property and casualty insurance license is preferred. Experience with excess and surplus insurance or personal lines preferred. Previous outside field sales or agency account management experience preferred. Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency is preferred. Ability to meet required motor vehicle and insurance requirements for routine business travel.
