Medical Lab Technologist
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technologist for its Portland, Oregon laboratory operations at Emanuel Hospital. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring accurate test results across multiple hospital departments on a primarily evening shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability and process specimens according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures and technical functions
- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
- Document quality control procedures and preventive maintenance activities
- Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- One or more years clinical laboratory experience in Blood Bank (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
