We are partnering with a growing energy organization in the Kansas City area that is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a highly collaborative accounting team. This is more than a transactional AP role. The team is looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys building relationships with vendors and internal teams, and wants to be part of a finance department that values initiative and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do As Accounts Payable Specialist
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Review coding and approvals to ensure compliance with company policies
- Manage vendor communications and resolve payment discrepancies
- Assist with payment processing and AP reporting activities
- Support month end close related to accounts payable functions
- Maintain organized records and documentation
- Partner with accounting and operational teams to improve processes and workflow efficiency
What You Bring As Accounts Payable Specialist
- Two or more years of accounts payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload effectively
- Experience working within accounting systems and Excel
- Strong communication and problem solving abilities
- Positive attitude and team oriented approach
What You Need To Know
- Location: Kansas City, MO
- Compensation: $25–$30 per hour
- Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday through Friday
- Employment Type: Full time, permanent
- Start Date: ASAP
- Requirement: Must be local to the Kansas City metro area
