Make a difference in the lives of young adults by supporting students with disabilities as a contracted paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a passion for behavioral support and the desire to work alongside a collaborative team in a rewarding setting. With a school year that runs from August 11 through May 21, 2027, you’ll play an integral role in the transition services program, working 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- At least two completed professional RefAssured references must be submitted with your application for consideration
- Demonstrated, strong background in behavioral support, particularly within educational settings
- Experience managing significant and severe caseloads, ideally with young adults (ages 18-21+)
- Preferably familiar with communication devices used by individuals with disabilities
- Must have reliable personal transportation (public transit, ride shares, etc. do not qualify)
- Able to report consistently by 8:00am
- Must consent to immediate fingerprinting upon offer acceptance; any criminal history (misdemeanor or felony) will impact eligibility
Responsibilities:
- Support and implement individualized behavioral strategies for students with disabilities
- Assist in transitioning students into the community and provide hands-on help in real-life settings
- Facilitate effective communication, leveraging assistive technologies as needed
- Provide personal care, including toileting and diapering assistance when required
- Maintain thorough and punctual attendance throughout the contract term
