General, Emergency Room Consultation and CPEP - Psychiatry - Physician - Manhattan, NY

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking an Emergency Room Consultation, General and Part-time or Full-Time CPEP Psychiatrists in Manhattan.

Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) is seeking General Psychiatrists to be based in Oceanside in Long island. MSSN's Department of Psychiatry is a vibrant community of dedicated and collaborative professionals committed to discovering the causes of, and better treatments for, mental illness and substance use disorders. For over 30 years, our team of behavioral health experts has offered care for people with a sudden, short-term crisis as well as ongoing mental health conditions. We aim to help people manage personal tragedy, job and family situations, medical illness, and difficult diagnosis, as well as a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders.

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a full-time Emergency Room Consultation Psychiatrist. The position will be working in the Mount Sinai Health System Emergency room via telemedicine. The position will consist of meeting with patients individually then evaluating the patients' symptoms and treatment course, arranging admission or discharge when appropriate, completing appropriate documentation and working closely with members of the system emergency room teams, including physicians, social workers, and nursing staff. This position will also work closely with the Clinical Command Center, to help facilitate transfers of psychiatric patients and optimize patient flow within in the health system.

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a Full-time Psychiatrist for its Emergency Psychiatry services at Mount Sinai Morningside/West. Mount Sinai Morningside and West have storied traditions of excellence in providing healthcare highly responsive to the needs of the local populations while also training superb academic physicians. Among many awards, Mount Sinai Morningside was recently named a leading "Best Smart Hospital" by Newsweek while the Mount Sinai Health System was honored by the American Hospital Association for its efforts to advance diversity, inclusion and equity in patient care.

Physician will provide direct care to patients experiencing mental health crises, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and consult to the main emergency department. All sites are academic teaching sites with residents and medical students, affording many opportunities for teaching and mentoring. All sites also have strong linkages with Health Home care coordination, with innovative pilots underway to connect patients to community and crisis services supports. Opportunities to participate in these innovative service delivery and clinical care pilots are available at all sites.
Qualified candidates will be board certified or board eligible Psychiatrists, and should possess NYS license to practice medicine. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai faculty appointment commensurate with experience. Previous psychiatric emergency department or psychosomatic medicine experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist

• Possess NYS license to practice medicine

• At least one year post-residency clinical experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred

• Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills required

• Must possess highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrate commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care

• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department

• Qualifications for Assistant Professor or higher level required

Compensation range from 225K to 320K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
