BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

$36,000 Base + Competitive Commission

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving company growth by training, mentoring, and developing high-performing roofing sales professionals. This role builds a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and sales excellence while ensuring every sales representative has the tools, knowledge, and support needed to achieve individual and company goals.

The ideal candidate is an experienced sales leader with a strong background in door-to-door sales or sales management, exceptional coaching abilities, and a passion for developing people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Mentor and coach sales representatives through ride-alongs, field training, and one-on-one development sessions.

•        Evaluate individual performance and create action plans to improve results.

•        Foster a positive, competitive, and team-oriented sales culture.

•        Comply with all OSHA safety regulations.

Sales Leadership

•        Lead weekly sales meetings, training workshops, safety updates, and product education sessions.

•        Monitor sales performance metrics and hold team members accountable to company standards.

•        Assist representatives with complex customer situations and closing high-value opportunities.

•        Ensure consistent execution of the company's sales process and customer experience standards.

•        Promote ethical selling practices and maintain the company's reputation for integrity.

Business Development

•        Identify opportunities to increase market share and expand the company's presence.

•        Develop relationships with referral partners, real estate professionals, insurance agents, property managers, and community organizations.

•        Support marketing initiatives, networking events, and community outreach efforts.

•        Collaborate with ownership and leadership to develop strategies that increase revenue and profitability.

Operations & Reporting

•        Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards.

•        Track training progress.

•        Provide regular updates and recommendations to executive leadership.

•        Work closely with operations to ensure seamless project handoff and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

•        5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in roofing, construction, restoration, or home improvement.

•        2+ years of sales leadership, coaching, or management experience.

•        Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

•        Strong organizational and time management abilities.

•        Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

•        Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and valid auto insurance.

•        Ability to climb a ladder several times a day.

•        Ability to lift 30 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•        Roofing industry experience.

•        Knowledge of insurance restoration and storm damage claims.

•        Experience building and scaling sales teams.

•        Bilingual is a plus.
