REGISTERED NURSE- University Hospital; MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)

REGISTERED NURSE – MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) A total of seven (7) (0.9 FTE) Registered Nurses will be hired to fill this job opening. Hours & shifts are identical for all hires. Responsibilities • 20‑bed unit with critically ill adult patients; common diagnoses include respiratory insufficiency or failure, ARDS, hepatic failure, renal failure, sepsis, coma, hypertensive crisis, GI hemorrhage, endocrine/electrolyte imbalance, and cancer/bone marrow transplant patients with complications. • Utilise the nursing process to provide primary care to critically ill medical patients/families experiencing complex, multi‑system health problems and participate in health activities. Required Qualifications Current Michigan RN license for all candidates that have passed the NCLEX. 18 months ICU RN experience. ACLS certification is required or within six (6) months of hire date. Experience with electronic documentation. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. ACLS or CCRN certification. Benefits and Compensation Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $41.78–$64.81 per hour. Evening Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour. Night Shift Differential: $4.00 per hour. All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
