REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital (Medical Short Stay Unit)

REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital (Medical Short Stay Unit) Responsibilities Provide care for a variety of adult medicine patients requiring acute nursing care for 8‑72 hour stays. Included among the patient populations serviced by these units are post‑procedural patients, patients originating from the Emergency Department, and palliative care patients housed on this unit. Patients may have arrhythmias, necessitating proficiency in cardiac assessment and monitoring. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team. Required Qualifications Current Michigan RN license for all candidates who have passed the NCLEX. GN applicants will be considered; the selected Graduate Nurse candidate will have 45 days from hire date to pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure. Desired Qualifications BSN preferred Telemetry experience Recent ICU or ICU step‑down experience Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated problem‑solving, leadership, and effective delegation skills Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment ACLS or CCRN certification Benefits Hourly rate: $41.78–$64.81, with shift differentials: evening $3.00, night $4.00, day shift weekend $2.90, evening shift weekend $5.90, night shift weekend $6.90, charge nurse $1.00.
